The Launch of DailyEntrepreneurTip.com – I Need Your Help!

by Brian on February 11, 2009

I know I shouldn’t be dilluting my energy and focus on to other projects but I have really fallen in love with the idea of creating a website where entrepreneurs can go on a daily basis and read short, to the point tips on starting and growing a business.  Hence the idea for dailyentrepreneurtip.com was born in my head a few months ago, and for the past few weeks I have been putting together a site that will officially launch in March.

dailyentrepreneurtip.com is my new website about entrepreneurship

Dailyentrepreneurtip.com is my new website about entrepreneurship

Here is the about page from my new website:

______________________

Daily Entrepreneur Tip – a blog with short daily tips in 150 words or less on entrepreneurship.

How many times have you read to the end a long article only to realize that the main point could have been written in one paragraph?  If this hasn’t happened to you, you don’t read enough.

The truth is, the internet is full of fluff, wasted words, written by inexperienced computer nerds whose only hope is to create a website that will make them money.  Well, you’re here because you are too busy to be reading online fluff, after all, you are, or you want to be, an entrepreneur. Smart move.

Daily Entrepreneur Tip is a website dedicated to saving you time by providing you with content rich posts in 150 words or less.  Each post contains only one lesson and are written by real entrepreneurs running real companies.

______________________

What I need from you all is for you to go to the site and critique it (come back here and post something in the comment section) before it is officially launched mid-March.  Also, if you visit the page, Tip Us Off, I would love to get a tip written by some of the entrepreneurs that frequent this site.

If you write a detailed critique (about 150 words) and tell me what you like and what you think could be improved I will send you (via email) a $5 gift certificate to sandshack.com.  I would also love it if you all subscribed to the new site via email or RSS…who knows, maybe I’ll send you something more for that!

So let me know what you think, and if you have a tip, let me know! Just be sure to ‘tip me off’, not tick me off. heh.

The idea is great and I think that model is nowhere else more suitable than on that topic. You are right about the fluff and people talking to much. If you can really keep it to the core it will be great. just check out http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog he is really excessiv sometimes, it takes very long to get the value out of it and besides that you’ve checked 5 links while reading the post to the end because he is crosslinking so often.
It’s really worth a try. I’m not that familiar with the US-Entrepreneur-Online-Society, but I can imagine that it will be kind of unique. Good luck with that. But don’t forget Sandshack..

Jens,
Yea, that is what I have to be careful of…I get so excited about things such as this and I really have to try hard to stay focused. I certainly need to make Sand Shack my priority. Luckily http://www.dailyentrepreneurtip.com will not be too difficult to manage. The way it will operate is through a large network of entrepreneurs I hope to create, all contributing there 150 word tips – getting many different viewpoints is where the true value is. I will be the editor and make sure no fluff gets through and dilutes the truly great tips!

Hey Brian,

I really like the idea behind the new blog. The layout of the website is very good, one cannot really go wrong with thesis. Content will however be the primary driver and to take it out on a daily basis is going to be a substantial challenge. I would recommend having at least one or preferably two months content ready. This will substantially reduce your daily work load and stress levels. I would also be thinking about the process of getting writers and having them submit their posts in an easy way. Probably something like a dedicated email address where they could have them sent to. Each writer may be given a quota that he/she is comfortable and this way you can send periodic reminders when their posts are due.

If you plan this well from the start it will make your life a lot simpler. Let me know if there is anything I could do to be of any assistance. I have a lot of content on my blog that I have summaries for as well. Please email me if you have any other requirements that you would like to talk about.

Best Regards

Usman Sheikh
